If you are lacking formal training in risk management or loss control, consider VRCI. 

VRCI is a series of courses offered through Virginia Commonwealth University by the Department of the Treasury, Division of Risk Management and Department of Human Resource Management, Office of Workers' Compensation. Two learning tracks are offered through VRCI.  

-   The Risk Control Certificate track consists of courses designed to assist state agencies to better control workplace accidents, injuries, and occupational health. 

-   The Risk Management Certificate program is for agency administrators who wish to learn more about reducing injuries and illnesses and controlling other sources of agency losses.

RED TAG (Impairment Notification)

Effective August 1, 2008 FM Global began a partnership with the Commonwealth on its Property, Boiler and Fine Arts Program. An FM Global Hot Work Permit is required for any temporary operation involving open flames or producing heat and/or sparks. This includes, but is not limited to: brazing, cutting, grinding, soldering, torch-applied roofing and welding. Description:

Hydrant operating rod and grease in each model B-84-B, B-62-B, B-50-B, and MK-73 hydrant bearing cast dates from 1999 through 2003 must be replaced. American Flow Control (AFC) will provide a complete rod and grease replacement kit.  For customer questions, please call 1.800.326.7082 Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST.
